Remove DHCP server from Active Directory
This article gives the steps to remove a retired DHCP server from Active Directory using ADSIEDIT.
After unauthorizing and removing the role or if the server is already removed from Active Directory do the following.
- Open ADSIEdit
- Connect to the Configuration Container
- Drill down to CN=Configuration | CN=Services | CN=NetServices
- Highlight DHCP server to remove and Delete
- Restart DHCP service
You may have to remove it from the attributes from the CN=DHCPRoot | dhcpservers as well.
